Color & contrast

A color engine built from scratch

Eighteen ready-made high-contrast themes plus a custom builder — and the whole view recolors the instant you pick one.

Try it right now — hover to preview, drag to reorder, click to keep. Your choice and order carry into the whole app.
Under the hood

A hand-tuned SVG feColorMatrix filter remaps every pixel on the GPU, so recoloring stays smooth even on live video at high zoom — no washed-out CSS overlay.

In plain words

Pick the colors that are kindest to your eyes — yellow on black, soft dark, high contrast, or invent your own. The whole screen changes at once, instantly.

Read aloud

It reads the screen out loud — privately

Point the magnifier at a document, slide, or paused video and it speaks the words aloud, highlighting each one as it goes so you can follow along.

Under the hood

Two OCR engines — Tesseract and RapidOCR — run as local WebAssembly workers, paired with the browser's speech synthesis. Recognition and reading happen entirely on your machine.

In plain words

It figures out the text in any picture and reads it to you. Because the recognition all happens on your own computer, nothing you look at is ever uploaded to a server.

Magnify

Magnify up to 40× — smooth and sharp

Zoom the whole view, or float a magnifier lens over just one spot while everything else stays put. A little overview map shows you exactly where you are.

  • Pan with the mouse, the keyboard, or “hover to pan”
  • Pinch-zoom and double-tap on touch screens
  • Freeze a frame to study fine detail without drift
Reading tools

Stay on the line you’re reading

Tools that keep your place and cut the clutter, so long passages don’t swim around on you.

  • Reading line & reading mask isolate one line at a time
  • Focus mode dims everything except the words being read
  • Auto-follow moves the highlight as the voice reads

Two ways to put a screen under the glass

Magnify a live video someone shares with you, or magnify your own screen — whichever you need.

Paste a link

Drop in a VDO.ninja view link and you’re magnifying their stream in seconds — great for a remote whiteboard or a shared camera.

How to set up a link

Share your screen

Magnify an app, a document, or a video call right on your own computer. Capture stays on-device unless you opt into online relay.

How to share your screen

Built to be used by everyone

Accessibility isn’t a setting tucked away — it’s the whole point.

Full keyboard control

Every tool has a shortcut, and every shortcut is remappable. Works with screen readers in application mode.

Dyslexia-friendly type

High-legibility and dyslexia fonts, plus dial-in letter, word, and line spacing until reading feels easy.

Notes & drawing

Freeze a frame and draw or highlight right on it. Your ink sticks to the content through every zoom and pan, and saves as a picture.

Calm by default

Reduce-motion, a big visible cursor, and a status badge that always stays readable — no surprises, no strobe.

Private by design

No accounts, no trackers, no analytics. Your themes, notes, and the things you magnify never leave your browser — your stuff stays yours.

Remembers you

Your theme, fonts, spacing, layout, and shortcuts are saved on your device and waiting next time — or turn memory off in one click.

Getting started

Magnify your own screen

The quickest way to enlarge a document, slide, video call, or app that’s already on your computer — nothing leaves your device.

Easiest — recommended

Work on one half, magnify the other

Snap this magnifier to one side of your screen and put whatever you’re reading on the other side. You enlarge the one half while you keep typing, clicking, and scrolling on the other.

Your work Aa Magnified
Snap the magnifier to one half and your work to the other.
  1. Snap this window to one side. On Windows, hold ⊞ Win + or . On a Mac, hover the green window button and choose a side (or use a tool like Rectangle or Magnet).
  2. Open what you want to read — a document, slide, or app — on the other half.
  3. Click Share My Screen to Magnify, then pick that half in the share picker (below).
  4. Zoom and pan the magnified side. The other half stays free for you to work in.

Pick a tab, a window, or your whole screen

When you start sharing, your browser asks what to capture. Each option suits a different job:

Choose what to share A tab Sharpest A window Whole screen
Your browser’s “Choose what to share” dialog.
  • A browser tab — the sharpest, lowest-effort choice for a single web page or online document.
  • A window — one specific app, even as you move or resize it; everything else stays private.
  • Your whole screen or a second display — capture everything, or share an entire second monitor (see below).

Got a second monitor? Magnify it from your main one

If you run two displays, share the second screen and keep the magnifier on your main one. Now the whole second monitor is enlarged in front of you while it stays at normal size for everyone looking at it.

Share display B; magnify it on display A.

In local mode your screen capture never leaves your computer — nothing is uploaded or recorded.
